The No. 8 ranked Tucker Tigers (15-4-1) scored with 14:58 to play to slip past unranked Dutchtown (10-5-0) 1-0 and advance to the quarterfinal round of Class AAAA Boys' State Soccer Championships.

Dutchtown negated Tucker's speed for most of the game and both teams were limited to one
...more quality shot on goal in a scoreless first half.

Tucker looked to be figuring things out a bit late in the first half and early in the second half only to have Dutchtown get loose for a pair of opportunities.

Tucker's Josiah Saydee, a senior defender, probably made the play of the game for the Tiger's as he headed off a sure score right in front of the goal as Dutchtown's pressure broke the defense and pulled Tucker goalie Steven Duffy away from the net.

Saydee's defensive stop got Tucker's momentum back and they went on the offensive firing the ball into the Dutchtown side of the field putting the pressure back on their opponent's defense.

Freshman middle fielder Lucky Teah scored the first two goals of the game to lead the No. 5 ranked Tucker Tigers to a convincing 5-1 Class AAAA soccer playoff victory over the South Paulding Spartans on Tuesday night at Hallford Stadium in Clarkston.

The Tigers put pressure on the
...more Spartan defense from the opening kick as the South Paulding goalie battled by blocking several shots by Tucker to keep the score at 0-0 despite the constant pressure.

Tucker had a goal by Solomon Roberts disallowed for offsides with 23:30 left in the first half as the Tigers had three opportunities to score in a 50 second time span.

The Spartans tested Tucker goalie Steven Duffy only twice in the first half and the score remained 0-0 until Teah slipped a shot into the goal on an assist from Roberts for a 1-0 Tucker lead with just 30 seconds left in the half.

Teah struck again just 1:05 into the second half by taking a pass from Austin Hood to make it

ATLANTA -- The Georgia Department of Labor recently rolled out a new electronic system designed to increase efficiency and reduce costs of operating the state's unemployment insurance program.
Georgia is one of 10 states to adopt the State Information Data Exchange (SIDES) E-response. It
...more allows employers to respond promptly to the Department of Labor when a former worker files an unemployment claim, according to state Labor Commissioner Mark Butler.
"This new online capability is part of our continuing effort to make the Georgia Department of Labor more user-friendly and technologically up-to-date," Butler said in a statement. "This will significantly speed communications between the labor department and employers. At the same time, it will help prevent some overpayments to people who might not be eligible for benefits, saving us from having to go back and try to collect money from ineligible applicants."
SIDES E-response can immediately inform an employer when a

Tucker Tiger goalie Steven Duffy got a ride from his teammates after making a stop on a penalty kick to secure the Tigers' 2-1 victory over rival Marist at Hallford Stadium on Tuesday night in a battle for the top spot in the Region 6-AAAA soccer standings.

The Tigers (8-2) defeated
...more No. 9 ranked Lakeside (6-2-2) 1-0 last Friday at Hallford to set up the big match against Marist.

Tucker was up 2-1 in the second round of the penalty kicks and Marist's Patrick Jackson was lining up against Duffy to keep the War Eagles' hopes alive.

Jackson kicked to Duffy's left and Duffy smothered the kick to secure the victory and celebration by the Tigers as they hoisted him up on their shoulders.

The game was a defensive battle as both goalies made key saves throughout the game to keep the game scoreless.

Marist (5-4) had an apparent goal disallowed early in the second half and the two teams continued to battle in the scoreless tie.
