ATLANTA -- Police are searching for the suspect in a fatal shooting at a southeast Atlanta drive-in movie theater.

The shooting happened just after midnight Tuesday at the Starlight Drive-In on Moreland Avenue.

The victim, Mitt Lenix, age 28, was shot and killed by a suspect
...more who then led police on a chase into Gwinnett County. Lenix is a well-known martial artist who has been featured on ESPN.

Investigators said Quentric Williams, 32, is wanted for the shooting.

Police said an off duty DeKalb County officer working at the theater heard shots and went to the victim's aid. They said Williams left in an SUV and was followed by a civilian driver who called 911. Police caught up to the chase and continued to follow along Interstate 285 and US 78.

ATLANTA -- Spend a day with Jason Jones and odds are, you'll have a hard time keeping up.

Just days away from receiving his master's degree in community counseling, Jones moves around Clark Atlanta University's campus like a man on fire, hopping between class, clinics and

If you catch him, you may notice his contagious laugh or his impeccable sense of style.

You may also notice the cane he carries around.

"I'm totally blind, which means I don't have any light perception," he said. "I don't have any physical sight."

Jones made his way to Clark's campus four years ago from Detroit. After receiving his acceptance call on a Friday, he hopped on a Greyhound bus and made the 17-hour journey alone, arriving in time for Monday's orientation.

Now he makes the 20-mile trek from his Lithonia apartment to campus by bus and train.

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Walter Parker, an Atlanta Fire Rescue Battalion Chief, has been saving lives and putting out fires for 29 years but for the first time, he became a victim.

Just before dawn on Friday morning, Parker smelled smoke coming from downstairs in his house.

...more opened the basement door and I saw a lot of heavy smoke and fire down there. I closed the door down there, went back upstairs, woke everyone up and made sure everybody was up and got them out of the house," Parker explained

The DeKalb Fire Department fought the blaze but not before the ground floor collapsed into the basement and the house was destroyed.

Parker lost everything.

"I never thought it would be me, never thought it would be me," he said.

However, despite the devastating loss for the Chief who commands the Fire Battalion at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Parker is philosophical.

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- The DeKalb County School System is searching for a student they believe ran away from Druid Hills Middle School on Wednesday. 

The 13-year-old student, Mariam Atiku, was last seen at the school; it is unknown what she was wearing at the time of
...more her disappearance. 

According to her father, Atiku left a note, took her father's debit card and withdrew $300; authorities believe she is trying to meet a man, from Facebook, called "Gucci Johnson" in Ohio. 

Atiku is 5'6 and 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. 

Anyone with information on Mariam Atiku's disappearance should contact the Dekalb County School System's Department of Public Safety at 678-676-1810.

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- A Stone Mountain woman recently took home a sizeable Georgia Lottery prize.
Carmen Burns won a cool $1 million during the Apr. 28 Powerball drawing. She claimed her prize Monday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in downtown Atlanta.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- One man is dead after a car collided with a minivan on South Deshon Road near Stephenson High School in Lithonia. 

According to Mekka Parish of the DeKalb County Police Department, the accident happened before 2:00 p.m. and the driver of the car was transported
...more to a nearby hospital in critical condition. 

Neither the van nor the car was carrying passengers and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

LITHONIA, Ga. -- Tony Parker, Miller Grove's 6'9" All-American, made his college choice this afternoon in the school's auditorium.

Parker's decision came down to Duke, Georgia, UCLA and Ohio State.  Parker is one of the top recruits in the country, number 26 overall by ESPN, and

Parker is the the Gatorade player of the year in Georgia, a McDonald's All-American and Jordan Brand Classic All-American.  The Mr Basketball in the state of Georgia led Miller Grove to 4 consecutive AAAA state basketball championships.  He averaged 17.5 points and nearly 16 rebounds a game.

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- One in five Americans will start a diet this month. Few will see the results one Stone Mountain woman got.

Laura Ramos lost 110 pounds, one step at a time.

When Ramos started her job five years ago at Stone Mountain Park, she said she had trouble

Every morning on her way to her office, she had to pass hundreds of people running and walking through the park. She said those strangers and a photo of herself at nearly twice her current weight inspired her take the first steps toward weight loss.

She brought a pair of shorts and a T-shirt with her to work, and after walking through her day, she kept going.

At first, it wasn't very far.

As the steps added up, the weight came off.

A 180-pound person burns about 100 calories every mile. You need to burn 3500 calories to lose a pound. That works out to 70,000 steps. It sounds like a lot, but parking further at the grocery

STONE MOUNTAIN --  FODAC is a statewide and national provider of home health care equipment—mobility aids and daily living devices for people with disabilities and the newly injured. Every year they sponsor a special 5K run and a 2K walk or "roll."
