Forsyth County officially opened the new Fowler Park Recreation Center on Monday, February 20, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The new facility was funded by a combination of the Parks, Recreation and Green Space Bond approved by Forsyth County voters in February 2008 and Impact Fees. THE CUMMING HOME has the COMPLETE STORY.

LULA, Ga. -- A Hall County school bus rolled onto its side at 8:15 a.m. Friday morning, sending more than a dozen students to the hospital.

The Georgia State Patrol said the bus driver had an apparent medical condition, which caused him to black out, allowing the bus to run off the roadway and onto its side.

Twenty-two East Hall students were on board, sixteen including the driver, Doug McClure, were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. 

All of the students were examined and released from the hospital before noon Friday.  The cause of the wreck is continuing to be investigated by Georgia State Patrol.

Atlanta -  'Fro Fashion Week has enjoyed another great year of success as they returned to the Melia Hotel to offer seminars, tips, new products, and more to the African-American natural hair community (and really any nationality with curly hair).  This is my second year attending and the
...more growth is amazing.  Multiple national brands created product booths and VIP suites to not only show off their products, but to pamper the attendees.  Hundreds of attendees participated in the event, which is also a sign of their growth.
What struck me most was that the majority of women I spoke to at the event were NOT from Atlanta. These women drove and flew from all over the South and even the west coast, just to attend this annual event.  In recent years Natural Haircare Industry has seen a boom, as more and more African American women are choosing to leave the chemical processes for more natural products for their hair.
