ATLANTA -- Twenty schools throughout Georgia have been awarded money through the Lowe's Toolbox for Education program.
Toolbox for Education is designed to help pay for improvement projects at public schools across the country. It has provided nearly $30 million through more than 6,000...more grants since 2006.
"Through Lowe's Toolbox for Education grant program, we are acknowledging parent-initiated efforts that enhance the learning environments of children in the communities we serve," Marshall Croom, chairman of Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation, said in a statement. "By supporting schools in Georgia, we are rallying behind a cause that is important to both our customers and employees, and we're helping to build a stronger foundation for the children who will be tomorrow's employees, homeowners and community leaders."
Georgia's winners for the fall 2011 cycle are:
Woodward Elementary, Atlanta (Brookhaven/Druid Hills)
$5,000 for new doors for the school
