ATLANTA -- Gas prices are higher than ever for this time of year with the Metro Atlanta average for a gallon of regular reaching $3.54, according to AAA South.

Sunday's average was up 14 cents from a month ago and 44 cents from a year ago.

In their continued effort to keep diners safe, the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness’ Division of Environmental Health Services (EHS) encourages residents to check for posted restaurant inspection scores when dining out.  Residents are also encouraged to report establishments

Posted restaurant scores inform diners of the restaurant’s standing at the time of its last inspection.  EHS inspection protocol requires restaurants to be inspected twice a year.  Staff members are trained to conduct risk based inspections based on the latest Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA’s) standardization guidelines. They also are required to obtain additional credentials in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and ServSafe, thereby providing the citizens and visitors to Fulton County with the most up-to-date knowledge in the food service industry.
